KAD presents for BAM/TRANSEUROPA FESTIVAL, GRAVITAS by Dimora OZ in collaboration with Spazio Flaccovio.
Gravitas, according to the Latin term, means precisely a principle of virtue relating to dignity, seriousness and duty. What does gravitas mean for an artist, what are its possible applications, in contexts and cultural and artistic productions? What are the limits, the dynamics and the problems regarding commitment, responsibility and duty in the field of contemporary art? The workshop will open with four talks that are also the updating of the collaborations and synergies realized by Dimora OZ during the last two years and in particular during Manifesta 12. The talks that investigate practices, contexts, productions and contemporary projects hosted to dialogue on the carpet of Jonas Staal, set up specifically for BAM within the program of Transeuropa at the Garibaldi Theatre. A report and a selection of videos produced and promoted by independent Italian spaces on the theme of the Mediterranean. The artist will present the project L’Ereditá Presente, a performance festival to be held from 21 to 24.11 at Palazzo Sambuca. The festival wants to open a reflection on the experience of receiving and transferring knowledge. It is an opportunity to support the dialogue between different generations who have experience of great paradigm shifts at the historical level.
29.11.11 – 16-18h Teatro Garibaldi. COMMUNITY / TALK 3# EXERCISES, with Gandolfo Gabriele David.
A talk where the artist will present a selection of projects and processes that have investigated various types of communities (from the multi-ethnic one in Marseille to the various workshops with the reception centres), comparing local situations, traditions and lines of artistic co-creation.
2.12.19 – 16-18h Teatro Garibaldi. MANIFESTO DEL FUTURISMO RURALE / TALK 4# with Leandro Pisano.
The presentation of the Manifesto as a theory and practice for the creation of communities and design co-participated within the rural areas of the world. Rurality manifests itself as an action of presence and political reality, going beyond its geographical characteristics to establish itself as a concrete and paradigmatic model capable of developing a synergy between best practices, technology and awareness of the territory and its tradition.
