“Beyond the Wall”, a theatrical and musical performance curated by the local organisation Maghweb, which will lead the participants on a journey of exploration on the theme of “walls”. Designed and created by Maestro Gianluca Badon, the performance will be presented in a square in the historic center. The performance proposes a piano concert by Maestro Badon. He will play one of the most significant pieces of the album “The Wall” by Pink Floyd, transcribed and revisited, interchanging with the recitation of poems and writings of some of the most important authors of our time.
On stage, a pianist and an actor will lead the viewers through a journey of art, content and emotions. Some of the issues addressed on the performances are exclusion, dehumanization, frustration, apathy; the bricks that still contribute to building walls between humans. The premiere of the show took place in Palermo in 2018, in collaboration with Arci Nazionale and the Municipality of Palermo.
Afterwards, the theatre company “Teatro Due Mondi” will curate WALL CRACKS, an artistic show based on the experience and the meaning of borders, often insurmountable, between states and people. WALL CRACKS is a show about high walls of division that still are built day by day. There are so many of them that they look like a gigantic labyrinth when you watch them from the sky. The actors will be stopped by these walls, they will try to get to the other side but they are refused. They will try it again and again and search for new ways. But if you don’t have a valid passport or if you are different you won’t get through.
